Invasion of the white herons…

For the last two weeks, we have had quite an invasion of white herons.  I’m not sure what has caused them all to unite here around the house, but they have been fun to watch.

You can barely see this one… it was brown.

I don’t know why the “invasion of the white herons” surprised me… With all the crazy stuff going on around here, why should fifty or sixty  white birds in my back yard surprise me???

This is going to be one of those post that just ramble on from one thing to the other.  And as crazy as my mind is, it is hard telling where it will end up!  First off is some crazy pictures of Tabs, this child has such personality about her!  Oh my, how I’m enjoying this little one.  My mother accuses me of having favorites, but as I think back and look at the pictures I can honestly say I was crazy over every one of the beans, especially when they were little.  Now, I’m not so sure~please know I’m only kidding, but it is hard to rave over all the cute things a 13 year old does! Can’t you just imagine how embarrassed  Jonathan would be if I put cutesy things on here about him.  He’d kill me!  Anyway, see I told you I’d ramble.   The other morning Tabs escaped from the beans while I was taking my shower and ended up in the bathroom with me.  She tried to climb in a couple of times, but failed, thankfully.  (Nothing like having a fully clothed toddler with a full diaper climb into the shower with you!) As I was getting ready, I heard her successfully climb into the tub.  Oh, she thought she had done something big.

DSCN3652 DSCN3653 DSCN3654 Such a Ham!  Oh, so rotten! I can’t tell you just how much delight this little one gives.  Her sibling dote on her like none I’ve ever seen before.  Even the kids at church tote her around.  She has more “siblings” than she knows what to do with!

The puppies are growing at tremendous speed.  They are soo cute, but oh sooo loud.  Cocoa is not the best mother!  If they fall out of the dog house she just stares at them and we have to put them back in.  The other night they were squalling so badly we could hear them in the living room! Their eyes are open now and they are moving around quite a bit, but not roaming around yet.  What  a time we will have when they do start moving around!

Yesterday, was Presidents day, and we debated on whether or not to take off from school.  Unfortunately, it was decided for us.  Sunday night, Jonathan, came down with the Norovirus, better know as the stomach flu.  Poor kid was up all night long!  Seth was the next to come down with it, and it hit him on the way home from getting groceries.  He seemed to have a milder case than Jo, but seemed to feel worse. Our day was spent with some resting and others just waiting to come down with it!  So far they are the only ones to have it, and I’m praying they’ll be the only ones that get it!

DSCN3663 DSCN3664 Sick! Oh so sick!DSCN3665 In waiting!DSCN3659 Leah, making the day just a little sweeter! (Which worked out perfectly, we still have cookies today, and wouldn’t have if the boys were well enough to eat!) (They have been begging for one since breakfast, I think they are back to normal!  Lunch is coming, and they have already placed orders!)

DSCN3661 Leah made some of the cookies plain for Tabs, as you can tell she enjoyed them immensely!  (Don’t ya just love her hair!)

Okay, enough randomness for one day, although I have plenty more, I’ll spare you and hope to be able to do more tomorrow!

It’s been a while

Wow, how time flies!  It has been a busy season here at the Greenebean abode!  I’m not quite sure how we get wrapped up into so many activities, but it sure would be a boring life without them.  We have some news!  Just before Thanksgiving, we found out that we were expecting again!  Such a tulmult of emotions you can’t imagine!  This is my ninth pregnancy!  Wow, can you imagine that one!  I had a homebirth all planned!  Oh, I was so relieved not to have to go to the hospital, but the Lord had other plans.  Last week, I started spotting, and thus I’m high risk.  Off to the ob/gyn I went.  Back to the same ole mess we’ve been through before.  Huge bills, and not a lot to show for it! We did get a sneak peak at the newest greenebean!  I was terrified I’d had another miscarriage, but as the doctor put the ultrasound on my belly and we were able to see the heartbeat, and watch him move around, I was amazed.  Here is what we saw…DSCN3424 A little vague I know, but oh how it thrilled my soul!  I think everyone here is hoping for a boy.  Can’t you see Tab’s with a little brother!  She is still so clingy, I’m not sure what we are going to do.  How she is growing!  Bryan measured her yesterday, she has grown 3 inches in the last four months!  I do believe she is going to be the tallest bean yet! Here are some pictures taken before Christmas.  As you can tell, I have an impossible time getting her to sit still or stand still for that matter. DSCN3284

We made our own Gingerbead houses this year.  We have made them before, but a lady at church always does the baking of the dough.  Well, let me just tell you this, I have way unappreciated her!  I can’t believe how hard the dough is.  I was ready to knock out a couple of window with it, but hubby stepped in and rolled it out for me.  We baked five houses and ended up with 3 complete houses.  One ended up with a knee through it and the other, just wouldn’t stay together.  Poor kids, next year we might just have to bye the ones already baked!DSCN3305Tabs was asleep while they were doing the decorating.  When she woke up everything was all oohs, and ahhs.  She loved the icing covered pretzels!

Christmas day we had some good friends over.  Oh what fun we had.  We even got Mrs. Francis and Mrs. Hutchins to play the Wii.

Looks like Lauren and Caleb enjoying a game of bowling.

Okay, I’m going to put a plug in for the Wii.  They are extremely fun!  We have had so much fun with this little machine!  I’m not sure how many Mii’s have been created on it now, but it sure is getting a lot of use around here. Last week we had 12 kids here if you count Tab’s and Tom.  Tom didn’t spend the night and Tabs didn’t play much, but everyone took turns skiing and bowling, boxing and playing tennis.  It was sooo much fun.  You know it’s amazing when I can have that many kids in my house and not feel the least bit stressed out!  A good bunch of kids we had here last Friday night.

We are having a family conference this week and I need to run get ready!  Hopefully it won’t be this long next time!

Hi All

A great big “HEY” to all you y’all out there in cyber space.  I know it’s been a while since I actually posted words!  Time really does fly!  There has been so much going on in the last month and a half!  For all of y’all that don’t have facebook, Jonathan and Seth have started blogs.  Their addresses are www.seththehunter.blogspot.com and www.thedeerhunter-jonathan.blogspot.com  You should all stop by and say “hey!”  Leave them a comment and they will love you for life.  Tabs birthday  is Friday. It’s hard to believe she’s already one year year old.  I do believe this has been the fastest year of my life!  Jonathan’s band concert is this week.  Poor guy is already starting to get nervous.  Pray the Lord will calm his butterflies.  We finally got a moving date for the church.  It’s official, February 7, 2010!  We are sooooo excited.  While standing in line for the bathroom Sunday, someone said, ” I just can’t wait until Feb.!  We started canvassing on Saturday announcing the move.  Prayerfully we will have some visitors.  Well, better run way to much going on to sit here for long.  Tootles!

Busy, busy, busy

Wow, it’s been a while.  Things around here have been hectic to say the least!  We just returned from Ohio, we were at a Missions Candidate School.  No, we aren’t going into missions, well, as far as we know. (We will do as the Lord leads!)  We went with a couple from church who will someday be going to Taiwan as missionaries.  It was a great week, the classes were excellent.  I wish we had heard some of the stuff covered before we ever set out on deputation.  We were able to see the Shull, missionaries to Greenland, and meet a lot of new missionary families.  The Shull kids and ours got along marvelously!  Caleb found a new girlfriend!  I think this makes him around four!  Not that we encourage this, but he does seem to stay out of trouble when playing with girls!  While there, we found a neat park I think the Lord placed there just for the missionary kids that come through the school!  They had all kind of rides combined with putt putt.  The rides were 60 cents a piece and putt putt was a dollar a person.  Where on earth would you find those kinds of deals???  It’s not always easy to be able to let your kids do something fun like this.  Especially when you have a large family!  Here are some pics of the great event.  Notice the expressions on their faces.  Pure delight!

DSCN1786 Yikes, it looks like Caleb is going to come out of there!

DSCN1808Needless to say, these kids had a blast!

Even the little one had a blast!

But, it didn’t last, she fell asleep on the Merry go round!

We’re back!

Wow, what a trip, there is nothing like being cooped up with a bunch of kids in a van for 21 hours!  Not straight mind you, but still it took 9 hours up and 12 hours back.  Don’t ask why, I can’t quite figure it out myself!  We had such a good time! The museum was amazing! It made me think of things I’d never even wondered about. I think the part about the ark was my favorite! I have plenty of pictures to share, so just get ready for it!  The motel was the nicest I’d ever stayed in.  It was a good trip, but today, I’m dragging big time!  I need a nap.DSCN1494 Huge dinosaurs were on display, this one was actually “eating” these leaves.DSCN1495These pictures really don’t do them justice, they were huge!

Tabs learned a lot about creation!

The Garden of Eden

The first marriage union.

The serpent

Sin entered the world, a sacrifice was needed, coverings must be made.

The ground was perfect no longer.

Poor Eve, can you imagine how many children she had to have for all her boys to have wives?  I don’t think I would want to be responsible for populating the entire earth.

Cain kills Able.

Inside the ark

Noah and his sons working on the ark.  Can you imagine what an oddity they were??

This guy was actually sawing.

Love this picture, it looks like he’s trying to talk to it.

Kinda glad we don’t have these things roaming around these parts!

Jo looks a little spacie…

I was afraid this big ole camel was going to eat Leah!

Caleb loved feeding the goats!  There was a girl there that actually asked what kind of animal the goats were!  She must have been from the city!

Poor Tabs didn’t make it through the planetarium show.  She missed all the animals.

Tabs going “bye bye”!  Poor thing didn’t travel as good as I was hoping.  We did find out she likes pretzels and crackers.  It’s amazing what one will do when enclosed in a tight space with a screaming 8 month old.

The group that went minus the men who were snapping pictures.

Leaving for Kentucky

This year in the home school group at church, the kids went through the Baptist Primer.  They memorized a different history fact to go with each letter of the alphabet.  For their reward they get to go to Kentucky to the Creation Museum. We will be leaving for Kentucky in the morning around 4am. Hopefully, we will be able to get to bed early tonight!  Here are some of the happenings of this past week…

DSCN1361We spent some time at the park with friends visiting from Maryland.

Tabs loves the swings!

Can you tell???

What boy doesn’t like rocks?

The church gave Bryan a B-day Party.

And of course more water!
