Surprise

Today, I got the best surprise!  My Mom was traveling up from Texas with a girl from their church.  I was supposed to pick her up last night in Richfield, NC, but they were way late getting in and decided to stay the night.  Then she rented a car to come to my house.  Well… when she got to Bojangles in Rolesville she called and said she was going to stop for a sandwich, I couldn’t contain myself, I piled all the kids into the van and met her at Bo’s.  We pull in the  parking lot, and the kids said “I see Paw Paw.”  Well, we went inside and I didn’t see him so I thought they had mistaken, and about that time he walked out of the bathroom.  What a sight!  It’s been a year since we had seen Momma, and two since we had seen Daddy.  Tabs was 11 months old when we saw Daddy last!  It was sooo nice to see them.  I guess the big deal was that Daddy came all the way up here!  It has been at least 5 years since he has been up here, and it wouldn’t surprise me if it is another 5 years before he comes back!

I love seeing my kids playing cards with my mom!

I do so wish I had taken more pictures, I had more time to spend with them, and that we didn’t live so far apart!  To be close, and let my kids get to know them.  To have sleep overs at Grandmas, and Sunday afternoon lunches together.  I am thankful for this little bit of time we were able to spend with each other today.  I will cherish these memories!  And I’m soooo thankful they were able to come.  Thanks Daddy and Momma for making the trip, even though you have to be worn out!  Hopefully it won’t be so long before we see you again!

  1. Aw… I can sympathize with you. It is difficult being so far away from family. Glad you got to spend that precious time with them.
